HOW MUCH IS THE MEMBERSHIP FEE?

Active Member -- $50

If you are currently working in a Maryland school, you are considered an Active Member.

Students / Retirees -- $30

If you are currently enrolled in school or you are retired, you qualify for this reduced rate.

DOES THE FEE INCLUDE MEMBERSHIP IN THE NATIONAL ORGANIZATION?

When you join School Social Workers of Maryland, we will give you a discount code to join the SSWA at a reduced rate.

HOW DO I JOIN?

Fill out Membership Application here and submit your fee online using a credit or debit card.

WHY JOIN SSWIM?

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

SSWIM provides members with 2 annual professional development activities annually.  We have a fall School Social Workers Conference where school social workers can earn 6 CEUs and a Spring Social Work Celebration which includes a dinner in the Gertrude’s at the Baltimore Museum of Art (membership inclusive) and one Category 1 CEU. 

RESOURCES

SSWIM is an affiliate of School Social Workers of America (SSWAA) .  SSWIM members who are also members of SSWAA have access to all of the resources on the SSWAA website. 

ADVOCACY

SSWIM collaborates on a joint committee with the National Association of Social Workers Maryland Chapter.  We provide written and verbal testimony at the State Legislature on issues of importance to schools, children and families. 

 

SSWIM is also a member of the Maryland Education Coalition and the Baltimore Education Coalition.
